I was born in Texas in 1966. We quickly moved to Washington DC and before the middle of '67 Dad was transferred to Santo Domingo, Domincan Rebublic. We remained there for a number of years and even spent some time in Lima, Peru. Dad eventually retired from the Air Force in the mid 70's and after another year in Texas, the family all moved to Garden Grove, CA .
I started in the AV industry around 1986, in Anahiem California, delivering 35MM's and Overhead Projectors for a company called CAL-Visuals, to the Hotels around DisneyLand. As the industry evolved, so did my enjoyment of this relatively new aspect of this field.
I rememeber when I saw my first Powerpoint slide in 1986, it was Mac only, and not even a Microsoft product yet.
I knew right then and there this whole "A/V" thing was about to take off.
I continued to learn as much as I could, whatever anyone would teach me.
While I was learning as much as I could about Audio, Lighting and Video, it was sometime in the Mid 90's that I realized I had fallen in love with all aspects of "Video" from Camera switching to PPT, and eventually what has become known as "Ultra-wide screen" with the creation of the "Spyder".
I eventually moved away from California to Arizona and have been calling this home since the late nineties. Throughout my career, Ive been fortunate to work for some great companies over the years including AVA and AV Concepts to name a couple. While AVA was eventually bought up by PSAV, AV Concepts continues to be a forerunner in the AV technology business.
When I'm not behind "Spyder" or "E2" consoles or putting final touches on some Vectorworks design, I find myself consulting on wide format events and "best practices" for the content creation and messaging for events.
For side projects I enjoy creating websites and also coding and running server side technologies for events.
Why? Because your never too old to learn something new!
I started in the A/V industry in 1986, I have enjoyed 1000's of successful shows from coast to coast and abroad.
I have been involved with many areas in the audio visual services arena including:
Video engineering for large events, (which is still my number one passion.)
Engineer in Charge ( EIC)
I am a Vectorworks capable, Project Manager or Technical Director, I can also assist with budgeting your event
I run a lean Excel sheet!
I enjoy what I do! No event too small
I have enjoyed the privilege of being taken overseas for events as well as planning events from Bali to Barcelona and points in between.
